This is essentially a live performance I did at home for my microphone. It's unedited except that I decided to omit the first minute in which I oiled my valves, and I silenced a few moments where I cleared my throat. (I thought I'd at least spare you that). Not that it matters if something is edited or not. My next album will be composed almost entirely of edits. I just thought you'd like to know that this album is a recording of a continuous improvised set. A solo trumpet set. I suppose I could record a set like this every evening in this era of no plans, but I don't. I recorded myself playing alive and alone early evening on Nov 1st in a fort in my apartment, and this is that.

The album is called Forehead because that is where the text is on the selfie album cover. Please enjoy seated comfortably, directly in front of a decent pair of speakers, or while you're cooking, or just leave it on in the other room while you mill about your home. Or you could listen in headphones. Let your mind wander, or attempt to be present with every naked moment (metaphorically). You might choose to read while you listen, if that's something you like to do, but please don't mindlessly scroll headlines or socials. 2020 has been a year like no other. Thank you truly for listening.
